If you were at Clark Fork City Church last week, (Fathers’ Day) you were afforded the blessed opportunity of witnessing the baby dedications of two families. Baby dedications are, by nature, encouraging to watch and often leave us thinking of the future, praying for hopes and dreams to come to fruition.
This last week during these dedications, Bruce Donnelly shared a word that bears sharing here in this public forum. Bruce quoted these verses in his exhortation:
“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night.” - Psalm 1:1-2
Bruce shared the above verses and went on to say that the Bible is the best parenting manual there is. We are to delight in the Word no matter what the world tells us to do; we are to make a stand for the Lord in our parenting. Verse 3 of Psalm 1 tells us the result of doing so:
” He shall be planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.”
Raising our families according to Biblical principals brings good results and is a wonderful witness. Our lives and the lives of our families will speak loud and clear as being for the Lord when we raise our families in the fear of the Lord.
